Philippians 2:3-4 (NLT)

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

It’s not all about you. Imagine this world where you existed alone. Just you with all the theaters, the amusement parks, the tall buildings, the shopping malls, the eateries, the trees etc. Wouldn’t that be so nice, No? Exactly. You can’t exist alone.

That’s why the people we exist with should be important to us. Don’t go around selecting who you care for or who is important to you. Anyone and everyone should matter. Yes, even your enemy.

Put others first and share when you have. If you ever have to put yourself first, you can only do so for the benefit of another person. Take the example of an airplane, the air hosts will advice you to put your oxygen mask on first before that of another person. That’s a scenario of putting yourself first for the benefit of another.

Don’t be vain. Don’t have too much pride in your own appearance, abilities or achievements.

Don’t be selfish. Don’t have a huge amount of interest invested in yourself.

Don’t be self-centered. Don’t be concerned solely with your own desires, needs, or interests.

Matthew 22:39 (NLT)

39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Don’t be rash. Don’t be ruthless. Don’t act or do anything without careful consideration of the possible consequences. Don’t do anything showing no pity or compassion for others.

Matthew 7:12 (NLT)

The Golden Rule

12 “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

May the good Lord help us all this new week and this New Month!! Step into this new month with kindness and compassion.
