Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. -Matthew 26:41 (ESV)

The flesh is what is visible to the human eye. The real you is the spirit you.

The flesh is like a being on its own and so is the spirit. The flesh has its own desires that are totally different from the desires of the spirit.

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. – Galatians 5:17 (ESV)

What does the flesh do?

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. – Galatians 5:19-21 (ESV)

What then do I do?

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. – Galatians 5:16 (ESV)

What then does the spirit do?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. – Galatians 5:22-25 (ESV)

Just so you kmow you’re really not flesh but spirit…

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. – Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

When you notice yourself doing the things of the flesh, all you have to do is A.C.T

A-cknowledge that you’re doing the things of the flesh.

C-onsider the cause. The reason you’re doing them.

T-ell the Holy spirit to guide you through overcoming them.

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. – Galatians 5:18 (ESV)

Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. – Galatians 5:23 (ESV)

Have a blessed week everyone!
