You’re not on this earth to live the life of another, live yours and do the things that are morally & ethically right.
Once upon a time you told a lie because you thought it was the best option to help yourself or another at the time. I mean, what’s there to one lie? What a person doesn’t know won’t hurt them right?. Then a while later, someone told you a lie for about the same reason you did a while ago. You find out the truth, you’re cross with them, you cannot believe it and you give them a lesson on how lying is bad. Can you imagine that? You did the same thing to someone too and you call yourself a Christian.
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. – James 1:26 (NLT)
There’s no other way but yours. You’re totally correct and the way you serve God is “the way” to serve God. You berate someone who isn’t doing things “the right way” and you call yourself a Christian.
We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind. – Isaiah 64:6 (NLT)
You’re seen as a loving person, you smile, you share, you do all that needs to be done but in your heart, you despise and you call yourself a Christian.
He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace. – Proverbs 11:12 (KJV)
You’re quick to judge others but you’re quick to seek mercy for yourself and you call yourself a Christian.
Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? – Matthew 7:1-3 (KJV)
You fast, pray and give to the needy but you want the whole world to know and see what you’re doing and you call yourself a Christian.
“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. – Matthew 6:1-4 (NLT)
“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. – Matthew 6:5-6 (NLT)
You do a lot of things and you don’t do a lot of things but you still call yourself a Christian. You’re a Christian because you chose to be one, you’re a Christian because you want to hold a belief, you’re a Christian because your parents are/were Christians, you’re a Christian because it seems like the best thing right now, you’re a Christian because you know why you’re a Christian but are you truly a Christian?
Christianity is more than just the word. It’s living a life based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Being a Christian means being Christ-like. It means being a reflection of the person of Jesus Christ.
Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. – 1 Peter 2:12 (NLT)
Live a life that proves that truly you are a Christian. Live the life worthy of a Christian.
In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. – Mathew 5:16 (NLT)
Have a blessed week!
