Sunday Quote – Self on lock and key

Self control is being able to command and comport yourself according to what is biblically, ethically and morally right and accepted.

So we’re finally at the end.

  •  Self-control; the last fruit of the spirit. (See Galatians 5:22-23)

You see this fruit called self-control? It can be a a very difficult thing. But the best part is, you can make it the easiest thing ever.

Self-control can be defined as the ability to manage your actions, feelings and emotions at your will. You see, that can be tasking. In this life, there are certain tings that happen to us or around us and we just want to throw a fit like babies. We want to act upon our impulses and make every thing seem right – but that attitude always messes things up in the end, making them even worse.

Self control is being able to command and comport yourself according to what is biblically, ethically and morally right and accepted.

So you’ve been working on a “life dependent” project and all of a sudden some random (or not random) person comes along and takes everything to ground zero. Oh you’re soooo mad at that person. How? I mean, how could the person do that to you? All you wan to do is take it out on the person or on whatever comes your way.

Stop.

And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry. – Ephesians 4:26 (NLT)

Everyone seems to be falling in love. Your friends, your sisters, your mates, the whole world in fact. So this good looking person comes around. Oh yes, you’ve found the one. He/she may no be the one but noooooo he/she has to be. There is no other way. So you find every means for them to feel whatever you feel towards them towards you.

Oh, stop.

Promise me, o women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right – Song of Songs 8:4 (NLT)

The list never ends. You need control of your life every day. Put yourself under lock and key. Hold the key. You need to know when to stop at the red light and move at the green so you can avoid trouble. But it all begins with your heart.

Get a heart check up – get your bible and pray.

Guard your heart above above all else for it determines the course of your life – Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)

God will help us all take control of ourselves.

Amen.

Have a blessed week!
